This year, the annual band booster trivia night was held on Saturday, March 19th, and it was a success. There were 14 tables that night, and the silent auction collected $1848. On April 7th at approximately 4:05 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 4000 block of Hwy. V in Villa Ridge in reference to a peace disturbance involving an intoxicated female. The reporting party stated that they believed they may have heard a gunshot.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon today issued the statement below following the death of Missouri Department of Transportation worker Lyndon Ebker, who was killed this morning while working traffic control at a MoDOT work site in Franklin County:
“Our prayers and condolences are with the family and friends of Lyndon Ebker, who was killed this morning while working to keep his MoDOT coworkers and motorists safe. Lyndon Ebker was a dedicated public servant who spent 30 years as a full-time MoDOT employee, retiring in 2013 as a construction inspector. Since his retirement, he continued to serve the citizens of Missouri as a part-time maintenance worker with MoDOT. “I call upon all drivers to be especially careful when encountering work zones or the scene of an accident. Extra caution helps to protect everyone, including the highway workers and law enforcement officers who are at these sites to help keep us safe.” REEDS SPRING, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) reports that Joshua Cole of Reeds Spring became the most recent record-breaking fisherman in Missouri when he shot a freshwater drum on Table Rock Lake using a bow and arrow. The new “alternative method” record drum taken by Cole on March 31 weighed 30-pounds, 15-ounces. It was 33 inches long and had a girth of 30 inches. He shot the fish around 10 p.m. about one mile from Point 10 on Table Rock Lake. The Sheriff’s Office recently received an inquiry asking if there were investigation(s) that we may be conducting at a school in Franklin County related to students sending nude photos over social media, mainly cell phones.

Family members stated that they had left the house at around 10:45 AM, and were gone for about an hour. The victim, Dennis Taylor Sr, age 66 remained at home. When they returned to the residence they noticed smoke and eventually noticed a grass fire as they approached the residence. They observed the victim, Dennis Taylor, lying on his back in an area of the fire who was not breathing. Ambulance personnel responded to the scene however Mr. Taylor was deceased. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. No foul play is suspected at this time. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Gov. By Ereka Bailey On Thursday, March 17th, the New Haven Chamber of Commerce held their annual Chamber Banquet. The banquet was held at Cedar Creek in New Haven, Missouri. Chamber members and their families were in attendance, as well as many local businesses. April 4, 2015
On April 1, deputies received a traffic complaint from a motorist on I-44. The deputy was able to locate the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop however the driver refused to stop. The deputy terminated the pursuit at the Franklin, Crawford County, line and the Highway Patrol took over. The vehicle was later spiked in Crawford County and a male and female were taken in to custody for traffic violations. The occupants were from out of state. Come to the New Haven City Park today at 3:30 p.m.and cheer on 75 students, parents and community members as they complete their Final Mile. They have been logging miles since February to complete 13.1 miles in conjunction with the Lincoln Presidential Half Marathon in Springfield, IL which took place Saturday, April 2, 2016. Students have been learning about Abraham Lincoln and working on their fitness. Runners will receive a big shiny PENNY medal, a t-shirt, and refreshments at the finish line. They will be running on the new trails in the city park. All proceeds from the race will go to Mission Outreach - a program that collects and delivers medical supplies to hospitals and clinics around the world.
