On Thursday, March 17th, the New Haven Chamber of Commerce held their annual Chamber Banquet. The banquet was held at Cedar Creek in New Haven, Missouri. Chamber members and their families were in attendance, as well as many local businesses.
The dinner that was served was a full meal provided by Cedar Creek. They served chicken alfredo, ham, fried rice, corn on the cob, green beans with red bell pepper strips, a house salad, rolls, and a delicious slice of cheesecake for dessert.
After the dinner portion was over, the chamber presented the awards portion of the ceremony.
The first award that was given out was the "Chamber Volunteer of the Year" Award. This was presented to the Chamber’s own president, Steve Roth.
“I was very honored to receive the award. I would just want to point out that we are an all-volunteer organization, and without the help of all of our volunteers, none of this would be possible.
The next award was the "Special Recognition Award," which was won by New Haven High School. Mr. Hoener said, “I was appreciative of the opportunity for our school to make our community proud of us.”
New Haven High School’s own Keven McDowell won the third award, which was the "Junior Outstanding Community Member" award.
Keven stated, “I think it’s a huge honor. I’m very glad that I have been able to represent our community well, and it’s really cool to be recognized for that.”
The "Business Person of the Year Award" was won by the Henniges Automotive company.
The last award, "Lifetime Achievement Award," was won by New Haven’s local Ralph Scheer.
To conclude the ceremony, the chamber gave out attendance prizes, and then president, Steve Roth, called the banquet to an end.
Steve Roth also acknowledged the work of the banquet committee, and he thanked Chelsea Rohlfing, Debbie Winters and Sue Viehland for putting it all together.
“Sue Viehland in particular handled the tickets, the program and other items and we are definitely grateful for her help,” said Steve.
It was beautifully put together! Congratulations to all award recipients! Thank you to our Chamber of Commerce for serving the town well!
