Scenic Regional Library will be holding public meetings to introduce their architectural design team and unveil the preliminary design work for its new libraries. Topics will include the overall building concepts, floor plan studies, and the project schedule. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and share their thoughts following the brief presentations. Herculaneum, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon joined advocates and caregivers at Jefferson County Developmental Disabilities Resource Board today to sign House Bill 2010, the Fiscal Year 2017 budget for the Missouri Department of Mental Health. The budget includes historic investments in services for Missourians with developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance use disorders, increasing state and federal funding for the Department of Mental Health by more than $200 million.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Acting State Budget Director Dan Haug announced today that 2016 fiscal year-to-date net general revenue collections increased 2.7 percent compared to 2015, from $7.22 billion last year to $7.41 billion this year. Net general revenue collections for April 2016 decreased by 4.6 percent compared to those for April 2015, from $1.26 billion to $1.21 billion. The National Blue Ribbon Award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. New Haven High School received this award in September 2015. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Following the release of pay equity best practices guidelines by the Women’s Foundation and the University of Missouri Institute of Public Policy, Gov. Jay Nixon today directed the Office of Administration to lead an interagency effort to review the final guidelines and make recommendations for promoting pay equity in the state workforce.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Gov. Jay Nixon today visited the St. Louis Agency on Training and Employment to sign Executive Order 16-04, to lessen barriers to individuals with criminal histories attempting to enter the workforce, lower recidivism rates and improve public safety. The executive order will “ban the box” in state employment by placing questions relating to criminal history later in the hiring process in order to provide these applicants a fair opportunity to compete for jobs.
