
The suspect has admitted to the shooting. The victim belonged to a local motorcycle club and was wearing his colors (a patch on the back of a jacket identifying the club name) at the time of the shooting. The suspect stated that he had been drinking and had an issue with members of the club resulting in the confrontation at the gas station.
The suspect has a lengthy criminal history with receiving stolen property, alcohol, and drug related arrests. He was sentenced to 5 years in 2013 for driving while revoked and given probation. He was sentenced in 2014 to 7 years for drug charges and was placed on probation again.
The weapon, a 38 cal. handgun, has been recovered.
