The family of Tim Strobel has established a new scholarship to benefit graduates of New Haven High School. Mr. Strobel served as the New Haven High School principal from August 1987 through June 2013. He was a devoted coach and educator who cherished his fellow teachers and students. No one loved the Shamrocks more than Mr. Strobel. Mr. Strobel's family requests donations be sent to the Tim Strobel Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Citizens Bank, P.O. Box 197, New Haven, MO 63068. Samantha Kimberlin is the NHMS Student of the Month for January. Samantha’s guardian is Brandon McCoy. She is involved in volleyball, choir, and NJHS. She has been on the honor roll, 3rd place in volleyball, and school spelling bee. She has volunteered to babysit, has attended archery meetings, and honors choir.
Samantha was nominated because she is a good person and a good student. Congratulations, Samantha! Jess Underwood is the NHHS Student of the Month for January. Jess is a senior and is the daughter of Rick and Jana Lockhart. She is involved in basketball and National Honor Society. Jess works a lot but when she has free time, she is usually with friends or playing basketball. She loves to read when she has time. Her favorite thing is to go out and play basketball or go practice pitching for softball. She was on the honor roll the first semester of her senior year. She has gotten three varsity letters in softball and a junior varsity letter and three varsity letters in basketball. She has also lettered in band.
Jess was nominated because she “is highly involved in extracurricular activities and takes challenging classes, all while working many hours outside of school activities. Her work ethic is second to none.” Congratulations, Jess! |
