I had big plans for us - shopping and laying out by the pool. As I tell her the game plan she smiles and says "we might need to get a plan B, I'm pregnant!" So we spent the weekend eating and talking about how exciting the next nine months would be! Little did Nicole and Jason know that within the next months they would find out they were having not only one, not two, BUT 3 beautiful BOYS! ![]() By Clare Roth The annual first dance of the school year, the Street Dance, took place on the first Friday of school, August 14th. Students got down to the music in the parking lot outside the cafeteria with Matt Boehmer as the DJ. Unfortunately, one of his bass speakers blew out within the first hour of the dance, but this didn’t stop New Haven students from dancing the night away. “The Street Dance had a huge turnout, which was really good,” Student Council President Lauren Bergner says, “I feel like the different grade levels collaborated with each other and didn’t stick with just one group, which I think was great to see throughout our school.” ![]() By Clare Roth On August 20, the New Haven Park Board was greeted with some fresh new faces. Middle school student Ellie Westermeyer and elementary students Julia Faris and Gracie Steele made an appeal to the Park Board about pool renovations. Jordan Rulo, along with several other students, attended to observe the meeting. Farris and Steele approached the Park Board with ideas for a bigger slide or a swirly slide, rock climbing walls, and the possibility of a bigger pool. Ellie Westermeyer recommended the addition of music “to make things more fun.” By Clare Roth

While some students are making their Labor Day weekend plans, others are tightening their spikes and running their watches. For 24 New Haven High School athletes, Saturday, September 5th signals the start of racing season. This year will be one of the biggest cross-country teams that New Haven has had in a long time. Coach John Tucker states, “It’s difficult trying to field a girl’s team because of the other sports that occur during our season, so it’s nice to see 6 girls come out. I’m really excited to have 18 guys run with us. I think athletes come in waves, which caused us to have high numbers this year.” ![]() Join New Haven Casey's General Store on Saturday, August 29th from 5pm-7pm as they raise money to send a kid to MDA Summer Camp. ![]() American Legion Post 366 Blood Drive Wednesday, September 9, 2015 12:45pm-6pm 9494 Highway 100 New Haven, MO ![]() Nancy Craig, MRTA Region 8 Vice President of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association visited New Haven Elementary School today to present the school with a Classroom Grant check for $500.
