On Thursday, January 12 New Haven Middle School had a pack the gym night for their last home basketball game.
Lucas Seitter, son of Chad and Amanda Seitter, is the December Student of the Month for New Haven High School. Lucas is currently a freshman at NHHS. He is involved in track, band, Student Council, and FBLA. In the past, he has been chosen for district band. Outside of school, Lucas is involved in the New Haven 4-H Club, and he enjoys hunting and fishing.
Lucas was nominated because he is always willing to help the other students and has a positive attitude in class. Congratulations, Lucas! Lizzie Eastham, daughter of Shawn and Angela Eastham, is the December Student of the Month for New Haven Middle School. She is currently a seventh grader and is involved in Student Council. Outside of school, Lizzie enjoys playing soccer and pet sitting.
Lizzie was chosen because she does a great job in class of encouraging others as well as leading by example in her class participation, her work ethic, and her drive to do the right things. Overall, she shows a great deal of preparation and passion in the classroom. Secondly, she is a very kind student to both teachers and her fellow classmates. Elizabeth is not just exceptionally bright, but she exudes kindness and respect every day. Elizabeth displays good citizenship by assisting other students and showing respect to her teachers and peers. Elizabeth is conscientious, hard-working, and self-motivated when it comes to her work. Elizabeth is an enthusiastic learner who seems to enjoy school. We can always count on Elizabeth to do her absolute best. Congratulations, Lizzie! The New Haven School Board has accepted the resignation of Mrs. Kasi Meyer from her role as principal of New Haven Elementary School effective at the end of 2022-23 school year. Mrs. Meyer will begin her new position as the Assistant Superintendent of the St. Clair R-XII School District beginning July 1, 2023. Mrs. Meyer feels the change is positive but bittersweet, ¨I am excited for the opportunity to return to the district in which my educational career began in the capacity of Assistant Superintendent; although it saddens me to leave my Shamrock family. I care deeply for New Haven Elementary School, the New Haven School District, its staff and students. New Haven is a special place. It has been a privilege to be a part of the Tradition of Excellence that penetrates this community. I cannot express how grateful I am for the opportunities the New Haven School District has provided my family and me. I have been blessed to work with strong educational teams and wonderful families.¨ Mrs. Meyer worked in the New Haven School District for 15 years, all of which she served as the principal at NHES. Although we are saddened for her to leave our district, we wish her nothing but the best in her new position. |
