This year, the annual band booster trivia night was held on Saturday, March 19th, and it was a success. There were 14 tables that night, and the silent auction collected $1848.
Booster Secretary, Cheryl McKernan, stated, "The winning table was Mr. Pruessner’s table. He donated the money back to the music boosters. The other two winning tables did the same thing.”
There was also a raffle going on throughout March to win a “Beats by Dre” Pill Speaker. The winner was Gia Eichelberger.
The boosters set up the questions in many different categories and sets. For an example, there were science, math, sports, and two entertainment portions--to name a few!
New Haven High School Senior, Josh Lindley, who was on a table consisting of the top 8 students in the senior class, said, “I thought that the night went well. Even though we came nowhere close to winning, we still had a lot of fun. We all brought junk food because that was our table's theme so that made the night even more enjoyable. Some of the questions were pretty normal, asking about science and history, but some of the questions were pretty out there. One of the asked what the dot on an "i" is called, and it is called a tiddle, which is something that I happened to know.”
Mrs. Strickland, who was on a teacher’s table, said, “We had a lot of fun, everyone at our table contributed to us winning; it wasn’t just one person doing all of the work. I was a bit nervous because Mr. Pruessner is the scholar bowl coach and we were all really wanting the teachers to remain the winners from the previous year, so that was a bit nerve wracking. But still very fun!”
The booster trivia night was a big success and everyone seemed to have a great time!
