Every student who has attended New Haven High School knows that it is special. From academics to athletics, New Haven has very high standards for all students and staff. New Haven High holds a tradition of excellence that most of us know and cherish.
Every student who has attended New Haven High School knows that it is special. From academics to athletics, New Haven has very high standards for all students and staff. New Haven High holds a tradition of excellence that most of us know and cherish.
When students and staff were asked why New Haven High was special, some responses included the quality of the teaching staff, the school environment, the drive to accomplish, the competitiveness, and the fact that we are all one big family.
Freshman Miranda Durbin stated, “NHHS is special to me because of the incredible student body, teachers, and the opportunities. We are dedicated and determined in all that we do, but those things we do wouldn't be possible without the amazing support from our community.”
Many students at New Haven High say that they wouldn’t want to go to any other high school. Others stated they would visit elsewhere to see what other schools were like, but they would soon return to NHHS.
New Haven High is set apart from other schools by academic and athletic excellence and small size. It is clear that NHHS has been successful, as the school was honored with the National Blue Ribbon Award in 2015.
English teacher Ms. Kelly pronounced, “I think that New Haven is different from other schools because it is such a tight-knit community. Everyone sticks up for one another and helps one another succeed.”
Lastly, NHHS has a tradition of excellence that makes us strive to be the best. We do everything to the best of our ability, and even if we don’t meet always our goals, we know we have accomplished greatness.
Senior Maddie Fleer stated, “Throughout your years here at NHHS, you are a part of something great. We uphold standards in everything we do. The tradition is to continue this excellence.”
Throughout the years here at New Haven High, you will experience greatness, and those four years will fly by.
Senior Kathy Jasper said, “It will forever be apart of who I am, and saying goodbye will truly be the hardest thing I have to do. ”
Remember, it is always a great day to be a NHHS Shamrock!
