Kate Weiser, daughter of Chad and Michelle Weiser, of New Haven has been honored as New Haven High School's D.A.R. "Good Citizen" for the 2016-2017 school year. This award, sponsored by the Valley of the Meramec Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is given to a senior student, male or female, nominated by the faculty who best exemplifies outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in their school, home, and community.
Kate has leadership roles as the Student Council Vice President, the FCA and FCCLA President, and is the class treasurer for the class of 2017. She has been a member of the track and field team all four years of high school, played volleyball her freshman year, was a girls basketball manager her freshman and sophomore years and is a member of the Garden Club her junior and senior years. She is also a member of the National Honor Society. Kate attended the Sophomore Pilgrimage in Jefferson City her sophomore year and attended Missouri Girls State her junior year. She is involved in the St. Peters UCC Youth Group as president, a member of Young Life, Missouri Stream Team, New Haven Theatre Company, American Legion Auxiliary, and a coach for Girls on the Run. She also works at the New Haven Ice Cream Shoppe.
Kate will graduate in May and pursue a degree in Education at Missouri State University in the fall.
