Mackenzy will graduate in May and pursue a career in Architectural Engineering at East Central College in the fall.
Mackenzy Vedder, daughter of Kent and Tina Vedder, of New Haven has been honored as New Haven High School's D.A.R. "Good Citizen" for the 2014-2015 school year. This award, sponsored by the Valley of the Meramec Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, is given to a senior student, male or female, nominated by the faculty who best exemplifies outstanding qualities of leadership, dependability, service, and patriotism in their school, home, and community. Mackenzy has leadership roles as the Student Council President, as secretary of the Class of 2015, and as secretary of FBLA and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She has played volleyball and basketball all four years of high school and is a member of the 4th place state volleyball team this year. She is a member of the track team also. Mackenzy has received many academic and athletic awards throughout her high school career, including; the Academic Activity Award, Academic All Conference in volleyball and track, the Presidential Fitness Award, 1st team All-Conference and 1st team All-District in volleyball this year. She has also had perfect attendance throughout her high school career. She has participated in the New Haven Youth Fair Queen contest, Drive-by raking as a member of FBLA, and a bell ringer for the Salvation Army..
