Governor Mike Parson stated, “The virus is still out there, and it is still extremely important for everyone to continue social distancing.
Be proactive.
Avoid large, congested crowds.
And if you can’t social distance, take extra precautions to protect yourself and those around you.”
In late April, the seniors responded to a survey which showed they preferred an outdoor ceremony with more guests allowed to an indoor ceremony with limited guests. Based on these results, advice from the health department, and Governor Parson’s recent announcement, the NHHS Class of 2020 graduation ceremony will remain outdoors but without a restriction on the number of guests per student. However, just as Governor Parson recommended, we ask that our families practice social distancing.
While we are no longer limiting the number of guests per student, we encourage you to invite immediate family members such as parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. in order to protect guests that may be at a higher risk for contracting the disease. There will be an area reserved for those individuals wishing to social distance. We still plan to live-stream and record the graduation ceremony for those guests that cannot attend.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in a time of uncertainty. We encourage you to contact the high school with any questions or concerns.
