This year, many people are planning on extravagant trips. Some try to stay within the United States, while others want to expand their horizons and travel to another country. Many people throughout New Haven plan to have a nice vacation this year.
“I plan to go to Branson where my grandma has a cabin right on the lake! I plan to relax and make some amazing memories with a handful of my closest friends.”
Others, such as Emily Scheer, senior, plan to travel out of Missouri.
“This year, I plan to travel to Gulf Shores, Alabama. My family and I were going to take a bigger vacation this year, and we all love the beach! We have been to Gulf Shores before and like it, so we decided to go back!”
Some people even prefer to go out of the United States. According to LeeAnna Linton, junior, she plans to go to Cancun, Mexico with her mother for the summer.
“We choose to travel to Cancun because it is very beautiful and has tons of great food. I really want to visit the beach! I also have never left Missouri, so it will definitely be different. I would like to learn about the different culture in Mexico while on my trip in July.”
Lydia Pataky, a sophomore, will be traveling overseas to Italy in the summer alongside her brother. It’s a big jump from the little town of New Haven, Missouri all the way to Italy, but she sounds excited.
“I love the Italian culture! It’s just so interesting to me! Also, I am visiting Italy because I’m going to be visiting a foreign exchange student.”
Traveling abroad can change the way you look at the world.
Brooke Bockting, a senior, comments about the endless places and possibilities of traveling, “There are so many places that are left unseen in a lifetime. Traveling is something new and takes a lot of courage. I want the challenge to be able to prove to myself that I can take on these adventures and possibilities. This goal will open my eyes to the rest of the world and its people. It will also open my eyes to myself, and allow me to discover who I am. Learning about myself and the people around me will also give me perspective of the different cultures and languages.”
Get out there and have a fantastic vacation!
