Fuller House is a spin-off series based on the ABC family sitcom Full House (1987-1995) created and produced by Jeff Franklin. Fuller House was premiered as a Netflix original series on February 26, 2016.
Most of the original series cast members have reprised their roles in Fuller House--some in regular roles, while others drop in for special appearances. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who alternated the role of Michelle Tanner in Full House, have not yet decided whether they will return for upcoming seasons of the spin-off series.
Sophomore Michelle Bahena stated, “I thought the show did well on keeping elements from Full House. It's definitely still the same family lighthearted show, but modernized. I think it actually worked out that Michelle didn't return because now the plot is very similar to the original show.”
Netflix released thirteen episodes, and shortly after the premiere, Fuller House was renewed for a second season. The series was renewed on March 2, 2016.
Like the original series, the show is set in the same house in San Francisco, California. After the abrupt death of her husband, Tommy, who died as he was attending to his hazardous duties as a firefighter, D.J. accepts the offer from her sister and Kimmy to move in and help. Kimmy’s daughter, Ramona, moved in as well.
Many students who watched Fuller House have said that they really enjoyed the first season and are looking forward to the second season.
[SPOILER] Senior Stephanie Russo pronounced, “I got to see how they turned out to be from being little kids to young adults. The season also tells you what they did for the past 29 years, since the end of Full House. For example, DJ had a husband who died from fighting fires, and Stephanie found out she can't have kids.”
Senior Erin Scheer also said, “I think it will be interesting to see where the plot goes and what happens with the characters. I will always be excited about anything with Full House, because I still consider it one of my favorite shows!”
The house is definitely a lot fuller!
