Before Black Friday shopping, students at New Haven enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal. According to a recent survey, stuffing proved to be the number one favorite food of Thanksgiving. Some other popular foods included ham, pumpkin pie, corn, and turkey.
Junior Abby Perdue said her favorite Thanksgiving memory was, “ Last year, my family got to go to West Virginia where my aunt, uncle, and cousin Ian were living. There was already snow on the ground when we got there, and it continued to snow everyday we were there. It was a very cold and pretty Thanksgiving up there.”
Above all, spending time with family and friends is the number one choice for favorite part of Thanksgiving. Mrs. Oelrichs recalls a Thanksgiving when her daughter Ava really wanted everyone in the family to go around the table and say what they were thankful for. “It's a funny memory because my family is definitely not the type of family that does this!” After sitting down and chatting with Senior Erica Kotthoff, she could hardly get the story out about her favorite Thanksgiving memory. “One year Uncle Kirb dropped the turkey!”
After comparing citizens in America to the students in a recent school survey, family holds true to be the number one thing people are thankful for.
May everyone enjoy the “Most wonderful time of the year!” Happy holidays!
