The boys’ varsity race was a hard race, but the times were still good for the course that they ran, which was quite hilly. Nathan Ford was the first runner for the varsity team. Behind Nathan were Dylan Goodwin, Dominick Pataky, Keven McDowell, Jon Stone, and Ryan Blankenship, in that order. Jon Stone made a good point by saying, “Even if you aren’t running that fast, you’re still running faster than the people on the couch.”
The girls’ varsity team ran 5 girls, which just makes up a team. The top runner for the girls was Abby Grater, and behind her was Emily Lewis, Lucy Roth, Hannah Kruse, and Natalie Hoerstkamp. Abby Grater and Natalie Hoerstkamp are both new runners for the girls’ team.
The boys’ junior varsity team had 5 runners. The first finisher was Riley Otten; behind Riley was Drew Armfield, Alex Madden, Bubba(Damion) Gale, and Robbie Cichon.
The next meet for the New Haven Cross Country team is in Steeleville, which is a flat course, with only one hill. The varsity boys placed second as a team last year, and plan to do the same this year. “I’m excited to see how we run in Steeleville because it’s an easy course, and it’s a small meet,” said Mr. Tucker.
