On Friday, February 1, New Haven High School students had their Homecoming coronation between the JV and Varsity boys basketball games. The theme of the coronation was Paris, with a Starry Night-inspired background where the candidates were standing.
When questioned on how he liked the coronation, senior Alex Trentmann stated, “It was good-- it was funny when the kids started sprinting.”
When asked how the winners felt, junior Lexy Sidwell stated, “I was really surprised. I was shaking the whole time and so was Cody.”
The Homecoming dance started after the Varsity game and ended at 11:30 P.M. The dance had two ping pong tables along the middle school hallway for those who don’t dance, along with a table with pizza and rice crispy treats.
When asked about their favorite moment, junior Bernabe Ribera said, “When everyone was watching me dance. I was nervous but it was also really fun.”
Lexy Sidwell stated, “My favorite moment of the dance was dancing with my best friend Colton.”
Junior McKenzie Pecaut exclaimed, “Eating the pizza.”
Along with the two ping pong tables being added, many students also claim to want to see the photo booth that the school had one year, along with cornhole.
With Homecoming being a success, many students had a lot of fun dancing the night away!
