Every summer, the Scenic Regional Library hosts a Summer Reading Program for students in elementary and middle school to encourage them to read during the summer months. The theme this past summer was “Every Hero has a Story.” Students have to earn eight badges in order to complete the reading program. A badge can be earned by reading, attending a library program, or completing activities such as volunteering, writing, or reading to younger children. Every student that completes the program receives a book and a River City Rascals baseball ticket. Furthermore, these students were entered into a drawing for St. Louis Cardinals tickets, Meramec Cavern passes, and Magic House passes.
Congratulations to the following New Haven students for completing the summer reading program:
Elementary:
Shauna Boehmer, Joseph Borges, Katie Gaynor, Jayla Pataky, Kaitlyn Taylor, and Blake Vedder
Middle School:
Hannah Boehmer and Chloe Lueckenhoff
