This season thus far has been a very exciting one for the Shamrocks as they prepare to host the Class 1 District 7 volleyball tournament next week. With the final 2 regular season games this week, the Shamrocks are getting set to win their 3rd consecutive district title.
Currently, the Rocks’ record stands at 28 wins and only 5 defeats. The Shamrocks are currently ranked 46th in the state of Missouri and are currently ranked 2nd among all Class 1 schools in the state.
New Haven enters districts as the 2nd seed with a 1st round bye and plays their 1st district match against the winner of Russellville and Missouri School for the Deaf at 6 P.M. on Wednesday. On the other side of the bracket, number 1 seeded Calvary Lutheran, who holds a record of 26 wins and 1 loss, also received a 1st round bye and will play the winner of Chamois and Barat Academy.
Coach Hoener commented on the team’s approach by stating, “We will take one game at a time and see what happens.” Also, commenting on what the team needs to improve on, she quoted, “I would like for the girls to serve more aggressively, put up an effective block, and have near-perfect serve receive.”
The tournament will conclude with the district championship game on Wednesday, at 7 P.M. Be sure to be there and cheer on our green and white!
