Every morning, all the Hermann kids and New Haven kids get on the bus at 8:00 A.M. and head to Votech until 11:30 P.M. The bus is basically cut in half, Hermann in front, and New Haven in back. It’’s mostly a calm bus ride. Justin Terschule said, “The bus ride`s nice. I just sit back and relax and talk to friends.” When the students get to Votech, Mr. Cozart is there everyday by the door. Mr Cozart said, “I like to see smiles on kids’ faces coming into votech because votech is fun and good experience.”
Inside votech, on the right hand side, there is collision repair. Dean Lockhart is the only one who goes to collision repair for New Haven.”In Collision Repairs we work on cars that were in a wreck and fix them to get back on the road,” said Dean. Past collision repairs, on the left hand side, are a bunch of lockers, and on the right hand side is the welding room, which is where they teach welding. We have four New Haven kids that go to Four Rivers for welding. Nick Solcum said,”In the welding room we weld pieces together and don't look at the light.” Next to the welding room, down the hall and on the right hand side, is the information technology class. New Haven has one student that in that class. Josh Thurman said, ”We take apart computers and find out what's wrong with the computer.” Across the hallway is the machine tool room, and we have two kids that go there: Kyle Luecke, and Zach Boehmer. Kyle Luecke said, ”We make and draw out projects with powerful machines.”
Down the hall on the right hand side is the Graphic Design room and Jenny Gallardo and Alex Madden. Alex Madden said,”They make websites and create T- shirts.” Down the hall is the building trades room, which has John Wintjen from New Haven. John said, “They build water heaters and put basic home appliances in.” Down the hall is the Health Occupations room where Hannah Prussner,Courtney Yowell,Julie Moeckli, Trista Kormeier, and Erica Kotthoff go. Erica Kotthoff said, ”We learn the basic studies of the human body.” The four other New Haven Students, Chase Moeckli, Dan Scheer, Karissa Durbin, and Hannah Pehle, attend agriculture classes.
