Scholarships and grants are a very important part of the education of many students. Every year, many students from all over the U.S. require scholarships to help cover their costs for college. Without scholarships and grants, many of these students would not be able to pay for or attend college.
A scholarship is an award earned for academic achievements or other reasons that puts forth a payment for a student’s future or current education. The amount of money put forward varies greatly depending on the scholarship.

Grants are funds often given to an individual by a government department, organization, or foundation. These can be given to a person for many reasons. For example, someone can receive grants for heritage or educational background. Anyone could be eligible; it all depends on the grant.
One student, Jared Horstmann stated, “I do believe that scholarships are important because nowadays college is just too expensive.”
Once a student earns a scholarship, they’re free to put the money to good use wherever they decide to go to college.
When it comes to scholarships, many seniors at New Haven High have positive things to say. Taylor Gillespie said, “The impact scholarships and grants have on any student’s education is breathtaking because as a student, they have to work hard to play hard when it comes to earning money to go to their dream schools.”
Another fellow student Ereka Bailey said, “This could have a big impact on my education by helping me not have to worry about paying off as much in student loans”.
Grants and Scholarships are important to any student that wants to attend college. These great opportunities could be what determines the future education of many students.
