Lots of fun things are happening at New Haven Branch in January. We are celebrating National Hobby Month with programs and information.
Everyone is invited to attend the Mini Hobby Expo Saturday, January 16, 11:00am to noon. Stop by the branch and see some interesting hobbies including knitting, crochet, creative sewing, and stained glass art. Learn about the Master Gardener and Master Naturalist programs.
Get creative with the Coloring Contest. Your challenge is to design a book mark. Stop by the branch for an entry form. Bring in your work no later than January 30. Winners in each of 5 age categories, from kindergarten through adults, will receive art supplies.
Share your hobby with us on the Hobby Showcase Post your hobby photo on our Facebook page or bring a photo into the branch and we’ll post it. You’ll get your name in the drawing for a $25.00 gift card.
La Leche League of Franklin County will meet on Wednesday, January 13 at 10:00am. Meet with other nursing moms for fellowship and support . This group meets the second Wednesday of each month.
Book Club, will meet on Wednesday, January 27, at 5:00 pm. This month our book is Molly Brown from Hannibal, Missouri Her Life in the Gilded Age by Ken and Lisa Marks. Stop by the library and borrow a copy of the book. Everyone is welcome to join in.
Bring the kids to Pre-School Storytime, for kids up to Kindergarten age, each Tuesday at 10:00 am and 6:30 pm. We will enjoy stories, about singing, dancing, building and playtime.
Read, Build and Play, meets on Saturday, January 16, 10:00-11:00 am. Kids ages 4-12 are invited to listen to a story and build with Lego bricks.
See Babaloo live, in concert at the Old New Haven School, 810 Maupin Avenue, on Thursday, January 28 at 6:00 to 7:00pm. This high energy interactive music program is fun for kids of all ages.
