The New Haven School District held the Cross Country Invitational at the New Haven Public Park on September 2nd. Competing in the high school course were Helias Catholic, St. Francis Borgia, Blair Oaks, Herman, New Bloomfield, St. Dominic, Calvary Lutheran, Montgomery County, Union, Linn, and of course New Haven.
The top 4 finishers for New Haven in the Men's course were Joseph Rethemeyer, who finished 5th, Tim Madden, 7th, Martin Lewis, 16th, and Nathan Ford, 17th. The top 3 winning teams of the men’s race were Helias Catholic, which took 1st, St. Francis Borgia, which took 2nd, and New Haven, which finished 3rd.
The top 4 finishers in the Women’s course for New Haven were Julia McIntyre, who finished 11th, Emma McIntyre, 12th, Kayla Brumels, 24th, and Abygail Grater, 25th. The top three winning teams for the women’s race were Helias Catholic, taking 1st, New Haven, taking 2nd, and Blair Oaks, winning 3rd.
The top 3 finishers for New Haven’s Junior Varsity were Austin Tegeler, who finished 8th, Matthew Otten, 13th, and Keagan Huff, 23rd. The top 3 teams in the category were Helias Catholic, finishing 1st, New Haven, finishing 2nd, and Linn, finishing 3rd.
According to the spectators, all teams did an amazing job keeping the competition at a high level, and all finished with great courage. We can’t wait till the next race to cheer on all the runners yet again.
