 | On Saturday, August 26th, 2017 deputies responded to the 7500 block Hwy YY located outside Washington for a report of a kidnapping and assault. It was reported the adult male victim was held at gun point and taken from the residence. Upon arrival deputies learned a male subject unlawfully entered the residence while a male and female were sleeping inside. The suspect reportedly struck the male victim in the head with a metal object and pointed a handgun at the male and female victims during the confrontation. There was evidence indicative of an assault found at the scene. The male suspect left with the male victim and it was later learned both subjects were being treated at Mercy Hospital in Washington. Washington PD was called to assist and they located both the male victim and male suspect at the hospital. The suspect was found in possession of a handgun when contacted by law enforcement. After the suspect received treatment at the hospital he was arrested by deputies and a warrant application was filed with the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Charges were issued for Burglary 1st degree, Assault 1st degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Armed criminal action with a $50,000 cash only bond. The suspect is identified as Tyler Louis Cregger, age 33, from Washington. |
