Pep Band has successfully started and has been performing at multiple home conference games at NHHS. Though they have not performed for quite some time, they are still practicing every other day, in band class, for more upcoming games. They are fine-tuning their craft and making sure they are sounding better than perfect!
Pep Band has already had a very exciting season. The band has qualified to play at the Missouri State for the Show-Me Showdown State Championship basketball tournament.
The Pep Band students were very excited to hear that they will be playing at the state tournament. Kayla Brumels, sophomore, was asked if she was excited and she said, “I was super excited because all the band members have worked so hard to accomplish this and get this far! This is a big event for all of us band members.”
The Pep Band members were also asked what their favorite things have been so far this year. Also, they were asked if they were looking forward to anything, or if they have any doubts for this season.
Mikayla Maloney, junior, answered that her favorite thing so far this season has been “learning the trombone and having Devin there to support me.”
Liz Hughes, senior, said, “I am looking forward to performing at the state games in Springfield.”
Sheny Delgado, freshman, responded when asked if she had any doubts, “No. Our band made the auditions for state, had a good marching season, and we all have fun with the songs we do. I'm sure we will do great!”
Congratulations, Pep Band, on a great season so far, and good luck with the rest of the season! If you want to support your New Haven Shamrocks Pep Band at the State Championship basketball tournament, they will be playing on March 9th, in Springfield.
