It was a humbling weekend for the Cross Country Shamrocks, who competed at the Annual Borgia XC Invitational on Saturday, October 17th. The boys ran both varsity and junior varsity teams, placing 10th overall and 12th overall.
Frontrunners sophomore Nathan Ford and freshman Joseph Rethemeyer battled it out to the finish, placing 43rd and 44th in a tie. Both boys had a time of 18:19.
Freshman Tim Madden came in after, placing 67th in 19:07. Freshman Martin Lewis (76th, 19:17), junior Bubba Gale (101, 20:18), junior Riley Otten (103, 20:23), and senior
Alex Majors (128, 21:22) also ran.
The junior varsity boys were led by Jon Stone, who placed 30th in 19:01. Dominic Olsen (126th, 21:21), Dalton Gerdes (130th, 21:30), Robbie Cichon (170th, 22:41), Cody Buckles (174th, 22:48) and Drew Armfield (234th, 27:14) also ran.
On the girls’ side, Lucy Roth (68th, 24:34) and Clare Roth (77th, 25:26) competed.
The Borgia Invitational featured 35 teams, with a vast majority coming from St. Louis preparatory schools.
