The weather held strong until the bottom of the third, when all spectators and players resumed their positions under the pavilion. Lightning was spotted three times, pushing the time farther and farther back. Coaches thought of rescheduling after 45 minutes of waiting, but umpires decided after all to resume the game after not spotting lightning again.
Sarah Mckernan had started the game off at pitcher but was replaced after the fifth inning by relief pitcher, Emily Scheer. Batting wise, Molly Munsinger had a strong hit to center, which was caught, unfortunately. Carlie Steinbeck nailed a line drive, bringing in Nicki Zeitzmann. She managed two other great hits, letting Nicki score again, as well as herself, on a throwing error. Nicki was complimented on her running, to which she responded, “I’m just happy I could help put something on the scoreboard for my team.” Tenille Duessler made a double play by catching one long fly ball and throwing to third for an out.
