To start the game, centerfielder Molly Munsinger hit the ball right over second base for a single. She was the only person to get on base that inning for the Shamrocks. Emily Scheer struck out Hermann’s first batter Taylor Stutzman; however, Hermann stole the advantage, leading the Shamrocks 3-0 in the bottom of the first. Tenille Duessler started off the second inning knocking a fly ball out to centerfield, and snagged an extra base after an error on the throw to first. Next to the plate, Emily Scheer drove the ball out to right field, which would bring Duessler home, putting the Shamrocks down 3-1. The Bearcats responded with two more runs, stretching the lead 5-1.
The Shamrocks and Bearcats would both go scoreless in the third inning. In the fourth inning, the Shamrocks would not score, and the Bearcats would extend their lead by two.
The Shamrocks responded in the fifth inning after Zietsman got hit by a pitch, and Steinbeck hit a hard ball out to center field, bringing one run in. The Shamrocks held the Bearcats, getting three fast outs. To start the sixth inning the Shamrocks did not score anymore and allowed five more runs,causing the game to end 12-2. -by Molly Munsinger
