The New Haven School Board announced today the selection of Josh Hoener, current high school principal, as the district’s new superintendent. Hoener will assume the position July 1, 2016, replacing current superintendent Kyle Kruse, who has accepted a similar position with the St. Clair R-XIII School District.
Hoener’s selection came as the result of a superintendent search conducted by the Missouri Association of Rural Education (MARE). The search generated applications from 14 candidates, and the board ultimately interviewed five finalists.

School Board President Brenda Menke stated, “We knew Mr. Hoener would be a good candidate, but we wanted to consider all options and find the very best person for the position. Although Mr. Hoener faced strong competition, he impressed us with his knowledge and concern for kids. We know he will do a great job leading our district.”
When asked about the promotion, Hoener said, “Serving as principal of New Haven High School has been the best experience of my career. I appreciate the trust and confidence the school board has placed in me, and will do my best as superintendent to uphold the district’s Tradition of Excellence.”
