The first game, at Lions field, started at 8:00 A.M. and was against Belle. New Haven started off batting but didn’t score in the first three innings. Belle, however, got a home run on their first hit. As it got hotter, the game started winding down and was ended in the middle of the fifth inning due to a time restriction to keep the tournament moving at the correct pace. Belle won the game, and the next game for New Haven started at 10:30 A.M. at Bock Field.
The team New Haven played against in the second game was Steelville. Once again, New Haven batted first. New Haven got off to an early lead in the first two innings with 8 runs, but Steelville also got 4. After the fourth inning, the game was stopped once again due to the hour- and-a-half time restriction. New Haven won the game, and the next game was at 1:30 P.M. at Lions Field.
In the third and final game of the day, New Haven faced Hermann for 5th or 6th place in the tournament. In the first inning, Hermann took the lead by 8 runs and managed to hold the lead until the end. The game ended in the fourth inning after it had gone on for over an hour and a half, with Hermann winning the game.
The tournament ended at 7pm, with New Haven placing 6th out of 8 and Montgomery placing first. -by Robbie Cichon
