New Haven High School will host softball districts for the first time since 2017 this week. The tournament will start on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and go until Thursday, Oct. 15.
New Haven High School is in District 4. The teams participating in the softball tournament will be Bishop DuBourg High School, Elsberry High School, Hermann High School, Jefferson (Festus) High School, Louisiana High School, St. Pius X (Festus) High School and New Haven High School.
This year's team is doing all that they can to prepare for the tournament. “This is going to be our first time playing under the lights at night time,” senior Emilee Hinten said. “All of our games have been earlier this year so it will be a different experience.”
New Haven will face Bishop DuBourg on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. Semifinals will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and the championship will take place on Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.
“We have a better advantage with it being our home field,” Hinten said. “I’m excited to see how we do, and I want to wish all of our girls good luck.”
