The preferences in forms of entertainment here at New Haven High differ greatly from student to student. There is a vast spectrum of favorite books, movies, and even music.
When discussing books in a recent poll sent out, students reported liking anything from horror, to action, to dystopias, and even to supernatural books. Although, according to the results of the poll, New Haven’s top favorite book genre is-- romance.

- Love, Aubrey by Suzanne LeFleur
- The Long Walk by Stephen King
- Girl Stolen by April Henry
- Victoria by Daisy Goodwin
- The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
- The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss
- All We Know of Heaven by Jacquelyn Mitchard
- A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer
Audrey Ford reported liking “old-fashioned, Pride and Prejudice-era” type books.
Alex Trentmann shared, “I've read a lot of books and there's so many I could choose from.”
He later added, “As long as you have a good story to tell and you tell it well, I don't care.”
Students were also asked about their movie preferences. Although there were many genres mentioned, horror / thriller movies were the number 1 choice.

Later, students were asked about their favorite musical genres. From the results, the students here at New Haven High are either for or against country music-- there is little to no inbetween. With that being said, the top voted musical genres are-- Hip-hop / Rap and Pop.

Destiney Quick stated, “I love too many country singers, it's hard to choose just one!”
The top voted singer was-- Post Malone. There were many others voted, however.
Although the differences are great, and we weren’t able to settle the country music debate, it seems like all of the students have great taste. Sit back and enjoy your favorites.
