| On November 7, 2016, National Honor Society's Ad Hoc committee hosted a mock election. A mock election allows future voters to practice voting with a familiar set up. It is a educational learning experience they will be using for the rest of their life. Students and staff were welcome to participate. The ballot asked for the opinion of the best candidate for President of the U.S., just like a ballot you would see on Election Day. Another unique question we added to the ballot was "What action do you pick first in a game of rock, paper, scissors?". The results were announced on November 8, 2016 in the daily bulletin and are also represented in the graphs shown. "We hope our project inspires New Haven High students to go out and voice their opinions in the elections to come and to inform them that their vote will count." |
