| By: Lydia Otten, Photos by: Natalie Pecaut Wednesday, March 13, was a special day for the NHS (National Honor Society) inductees who began their chapter in NHS. The ceremony started at 9 A.M. and ended about 9:35 A.M. The ceremony started with all of the current members walking in with lit candles. President Joseph Rethemeyer led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. He then welcomed the guests. When he was finished, each of the officers then came forward and described each of the principles that make NHS: scholarship, character, leadership, and service. |
Following the ceremony, the inductees, current members, and guests were invited to the cafeteria for a reception.
Junior McKenzie Overschmidt stated, “I think [the ceremony] went fast and smooth!”
Lexy Sidwell, junior, really enjoyed Mr. Stutzman's message and is excited to have a big group for NHS next year.
Senior Miranda Durbin commented with, “I am excited to see the new members join because they are such a great group of kids, and with so many seniors leaving the leadership to these members, I have no worries that NHS will thrive after we graduate.”
Senior Joseph Rethemeyer is excited to have more help during various service projects.
Congratulations, new inductees, and National Honor Society welcomes you!
