The Little Mr. and Miss 2015 pageant was held on September 26th, 2015 at New Haven City Park. The event was sponsored by New Haven High School Student Council, and was another fun activity in accordance to the New Haven Balloon Festival. Student Council members Kate Weiser, Lauren Bergner, and Maddie Fleer were the pageant’s judges, while Henrik Linzenich and Michelle Bahena hosted the event.
To start the day off, the 5 contestants rode on the “Pirate Ship” parade float along with several Student Council Members and advisor. The contestants threw out candy, while showing off their “international” attire.

After the parade concluded, the contestants got set for pageant time. For scoring, judges focused on each contestant’s attire, on-stage question, and coloring of a hot air balloon.
On stage, Little Miss 2015 winner Jayla Pataky was asked, “Where is your favorite place near/in New Haven to visit?” in which she answered, “My grandma’s!”
Little Mr. 2015 winner Adan Moreno’s question was, ”If you could put any toppings on a pizza at Lancito’s, what would you choose?”
Adan answered, “Sausage, pepperoni, and cheese.”
The winners each received a crown, a sash, a gift certificate to Pin Oak Farms, candy, and a gift card to Lancito’s Pizzeria.
According to Student Council president Lauren Bergner, the Little Mr. and Miss Pageant was a success. “The kids had a lot of fun dressing up, and waving to members of the community from the float. Overall, the pageant in a whole was a positive and fun-filled event for the kids of New Haven, and I encourage any 4-6 year olds to participate next year!”
