New Bloomfield’s Jak Kitchens was just too much for New Haven to handle as the Shamrocks fell to the Wildcats 61-50 last Tuesday. Kitchens, a junior, would finish with a double-double by putting up 32 points and 10 rebounds.
Senior Justin Shockley led the way in scoring for the Shamrocks with 13 points. Junior Abe Madden followed with 10 points and 4 rebounds.
Commenting on the game, Coach Aaron Peirick stated, ”Kitchens got done whatever he really wanted inside, and he made some tough shots. We had difficulty handling their pressure, and also missed a lot of opportunities. Their guards were able to easily pass the ball around to try and get it inside. We did not guard good enough to win.”
Currently, the Shamrocks’ record stands at 5 wins and 9 losses. So far this season, senior Justin Shockley leads the team in scoring at 9.3 points per game. Junior Abe Madden leads the team in rebounding at 5.8 rebounds per game.
New Haven will play today at Pacific with tipoff set for 5:30 P.M., and also at home Friday against Wellsville. Please note that there will be 3 games played at home Friday against Wellsville, but no JV boys game. The varsity girls will play, followed by 2 quarters of JV girls and the varsity boys in the finale.
