John was born in Roodhouse, Illinois on August 22, 1928, a son of the late Jay & Sarah (Sutton) Haney.
He was the widower of Marcella (Parmentier) Haney. They were united in marriage on October 30, 1948, in Union, Missouri.
John served in the U.S. Army reserves. He worked as a residential and commercial union carpenter. In his free time he also enjoyed working on lawn mowers.
John is survived by four sons, John Haney, Jr., of St. Clair, Missouri; David Haney, of Aurora, Colorado; Bobby Haney, of Tomball, Texas; and Kevin Haney & wife Stacy, of Washington, Missouri; by three daughters, Deborah Nicks & husband Lauren, of Beaufort, Missouri; Patty Rogers, of Rosebud, Missouri; and Chris Jokerst & husband Mike, of Foley, Missouri; by two sisters, Dortha Woodruff, of Seattle, Washington; and Daisy Campbell & husband Jim, of Sullivan, Missouri; by 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, by two sons, Mike and Kenny Haney, one daughter Karen Cash, two brothers, Oscar & Jay Haney, and one sister Truelah Crider.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 27th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Union, Missouri.
