Hillary Clinton is one of the candidates in the race to become president. She is currently striving to obtain the Democratic party nomination, her only competitor being Senator Bernie Sanders. Hillary has been in politics a long time and has had a front row seat to many crises that this country has faced, beginning with her role as First Lady to former president Bill Clinton from 1993-2001.
America’s infrastructure is a strong point of her campaign; she states, “I want to use every tool we can to invest in infrastructure and build a stronger, more prosperous future.”
Racial prejudice in America is also a strong point in her platforms; she has always taken a very harsh and realistic stance against this issue that has affected our nation greatly. She claims, “We can’t hide from any of these hard truths about race and justice in America. We have to name them, and own them, and then change them.”
Hillary says she wishes to give working families a raise, and she often talks about creating good-paying jobs.
Jared Horstmann states, “I personally think that she is the most qualified to run for president at the moment. I disagree with some of her viewpoints, like gun laws and such, but overall, she is only candidate that makes sense in the election. It is even hard for me to say this because I see myself as a Republican, but I would choose her over Trump or Cruz any day.”
Another issue our country has that she brings up is climate change. She says, "I won’t let anyone take us backward, deny our economy the benefits of harnessing a clean energy future, or force our children to endure the catastrophe that would result from unchecked climate change."
Emily Lewis states, “I can't wait for the day when a woman enters the White House. However, voting for her simply because she's a woman would be a stupid mistake.”
Michael McKernan proclaims, “To be honest; I dislike her. Enough said.”
Clinton is currently leading Democratic polls and has a very loyal supporter base. As for what happens next, only time will tell.
