The 4x400 meter relay team of Pruessner, Molly Munsinger, Nicki Zeitzmann, and Covington placed first.
The 4x200 meter relay team of Stephanie Russo, Emma Engelbrecht, Zeitzmann, and Munsinger placed first; and the 4x100 meter relay team of Russo, Hanna Fitts, Zeitzmann, and Munsinger also placed first.
Individually, Munsinger placed third in the 200 meter dash; Pruessner placed fourth in the 400 meter dash; Borcherding placed fourth in the 800 meter run; Fitts placed third in the 100 meter dash; Ereka Bailey placed third in triple jump; Kate Rudiger placed third in the 100 meter hurdles; Lauren Bergner placed fourth in shot put; and Lauren Gerlemann placed second in the long jump and shot put. Beth Schenck took first in the high jump; Engelbrecht placed first in the triple jump, second in the hurdles, and second in the 200 meter dash.
Taylor Covington took first in the 400 meter dash and 800 meter run. Covington ran a season best 2:28 in her 800 meter run. She stated, “I was hoping to run something in the low 2:30s; however, when they announced my time over the intercom, they said 2:28. I was ecstatic! I couldn't believe that I ran that time. My ultimate goal for this season is to beat the school record: 2:21. I was close last year, but this year I want to make it happen. That district race was just one step toward that goal that I so badly want to achieve.”
The boys’ 4x800 meter relay team of Nathan Ford, Jon Stone, Keven McDowell, and Dominick Pataky placed first. Pataky stated, “ One of the teams we were to run against was talking trash to us before the race, and we made it a point not to respond back but to run the best we could and win the race.”
The 4x400 meter relay team of McDowell, Stone, Brady Kruse, and Alex Majors placed second.
The 4x200 meter relay team of Logan Huff, Kruse, Dalton Gerdes, and Austin Moeckli placed fourth; and the 4x100 meter relay team of Huff, Kruse, Moeckli, and Jared Horstmann placed fourth as well.
Individually, Dylan Goodwin placed third in the 3200 meter run. Alex Majors also placed individually in multiple events: second in the shot put, third in the 400 meter run, and second in the 200 meter dash. Nathan Ford placed fourth in both the 800 and 1600 meter run.
Coach Tucker stated, “The team competed well considering the conditions and worked hard to get through.” The Shamrocks will run Saturday, May 16th, in the Sectional Meet.
