Less than three weeks away, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s annual fundraiser, Dessert First, is shaping up to be a memorable evening. The event honors the extraordinary achievements of Girl Scout Gold Awardees, the dedicated service of Individual Legacy Builders and the transformational support of Corporate Legacy Builders. The event is being held from 6-9 pm Thursday, February 25 at the Chase Park Plaza. Tickets start at $150. Sponsorships are also available and begin at $2500.

Two Girl Scout Gold Awardees will also be recognized for their achievements and leadership. Myra Dotzel, a junior at Parkway Central High School, and Jessica Thoelke, a senior at Ladue Horton Watkins High School, will each receive a $5,000 Dessert First scholarship for higher education. Myra organized and led a supply drive benefitting the VA Medical Center at Jefferson Barracks for her Gold Award project, while Jessica Thoelke created and taught a coding club for middle schoolers in her community.
Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri will also honor two of its supporters. Commerce Bank, which has a long history with the organization, is the 2016 Corporate Legacy Builder, while lifelong Girl Scout and volunteer Maurita Stueck will receive the 2016Individual Legacy Builder award.
