 | On Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at approximately 5:15 a.m. deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 800 block of Destiny Drive in Villa Ridge for a domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim who told them she had been assaulted by her husband after an argument. When the assault had occurred the victim states she was holding their infant son in her arms. The victim attempted to flee the residence with her child but the suspect caught her and dragged her back inside the home. The victim was assaulted again. The victim's phone was taken by the suspect and she had no way to call authorities. The victim located her phone and then called 911. Deputies discovered evidence that was consistent with the victim's account of the incident. The male suspect was taken into custody and charged with Domestic Assault 1st Degree and Endangering The Welfare of a Child 2nd Degree. He is identified as Aaron C. Barton, age 22 of Villa Ridge. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond. |
