Charges of Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree were issued through the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The suspect identified as Micah Shurtleff, a 39YOA white male from the Villa Ridge area. He is being held in the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility on a $25,000 cash only bond.
Shurtleff has an extensive felony criminal history spanning 3 states. He was released from the Missouri of Department of Correction approximately 4 months ago and is currently on parole. His criminal history consists of charges ranging from Felony Resisting Arrest, Arson 1st, Burglary 1st, Felony Assault on LEO, amongst a host of charges involving the Trafficking and Manufacturing Narcotics.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office would like to thank its citizens for their support and alertness in reporting suspicious activities. This allowed for deputies to quickly isolate, locate and take the suspect into custody without incident.
On April 24, at approximately 1:08 AM, deputies received information of a large party on Bend School Road outside of Union with possible underage drinking. Upon arrival, numerous individuals ran in to the woods. Minors and alcohol were located on the property. 14 minor in possession citations were issued to individuals who were found to be drinking. Those cited were from Marthasville, Augusta, St. Clair, Washington, and Jefferson City.
