On October 11, 2018 Deputy Chad Clinton with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office was honored among other St. Louis area officers at the ASIS International 2018 Law Enforcement/Private Security Appreciation Day Luncheon at the Moolah Shine Center in St. Louis. He received an award for his performance during a medical emergency call he responded to on August 5, 2018. Around 3:54 a.m. that morning Deputy Clinton responded to a 911 dispatch of a two-month old infant that had stopped breathing while the parents were traveling on I-44. The family was enroute to a hospital for complications the infant was having due to a pre-existing medical condition. The parents pulled over along the highway to begin CPR while emergency personnel responded to the scene. Deputy Clinton was first on the scene and took over resuscitation efforts until EMS arrived and then helped prepare the infant for medical transport. The nomination for the award cited "Deputy Clinton played a significant role in sustaining life-saving measures that has hopefully given these parents an opportunity to see their child overcome her medical condition. Deputy Clinton's action were commendable and true to his duty to preserve life." ASIS International is a worldwide security management organization with a chapter based in St. Louis.
