Senior year is supposedly the “best year of your life” when it comes to being in school. My senior year completely changed my life. I moved to New Haven from Webster Groves. This is a big change to me because Webster has around 500 kids per grade, while the New Haven district has around 500 in the district.
Thankfully, everyone in New Haven is super sweet and welcomed me with open arms. I never expected a school, especially high school, to have such good vibes. Honestly, I am so thankful for moving here because it’s a fresh start for me. Starting all over for “The best year of my life,” wasn’t exactly ideal. It turns out my negative attitude at the beginning of the year flipped around after my first day here.
Although the thought of moving is rough for some, others took it as a way to improve themselves. New Haven is very positive and the people here can change a bad day into a good one in an instant due to how friendly students are with each other.
One Senior states,“I was actually excited to come to such a small town where everyone could get to know me and remember me, rather than questioning my existence. New Haven has been a great experience so far and I cannot wait to graduate from here. The people in my hometown might not know where I am, but I know where I am in my heart. That’s all that matters. Being here makes me happy and my family loves it too, which helps me a lot.”
When it comes to moving from a big city to a small town, it is very nerve-wracking and stressful. This is especially true because I was expecting the worst and received the best.
I just want to thank everyone for being helpful and positive towards me. I appreciate it, and now people at my old school are jealous. They would honestly love to come to such an upbeat school full of positive people. I got lucky, that’s for sure.
