Mr. D. Peirick said, “I think it is a great idea. It allows the students to be creative and also forces them to work together towards a common goal.” Mrs. Hausmann joked, “What a fun idea! Although, everytime I look over at my door, I think someone is standing there. Which, I guess, there is someone standing there. It is just Jack Skellington.”
Some classes waited a until the last few days to decorate. Mackenzy Vedder said, “Well, we are seniors. So we procrastinated. Ours wasn't very creative, but funny if you ask me. I think the other classes have some really great doors!” The classes are not only having a friendly competition, but they are also complimenting one another on their creativity.
Wednesday, October 29, the sophomore class was announced the winners of the door decorating contest. Both of their doors were friendly and creative. Mrs. Miller said, “The sophomores met several times to discuss themes and who was going to bring in the supplies. I was impressed with the group’s dedication to the project and how well they worked together to complete it.” Mrs. Miller’s door featured a mummy telling the students to be quiet and that they are wrapped up in learning. Mr. Aaron Peirick’s door held the saying, “Have a jaw-ly Halloween.” Mr. Peirick said, “I think the kids did a nice job on my gym doors. It doesn't bother me at all that they are decorated and have to stay closed. It was nice to see so many sophomore students energetically working together throughout the planning and the decorating part and it turned out well.”
FBLA had a successful year with door decorating hoping to continue the tradition of decorating for upcoming holidays.
