At the beginning of practice, all the girls got together to start their stretches and exercises. They did individual stretches such as toe touching and lunges. They then ran back and forth in the cafeteria doing high skips. To get the girls pumped up for practice, the cheerleaders thought it would be a good idea to play music to motivate them. After they were finished with their exercises, it was time to start some sideline cheers. The new cheerleaders were first taught the cheer, and then the girls would break up into smaller groups to learn the cheers individually with a veteran in each group to help out. The cheerleaders were told that a good way to know if you were doing the cheer right, was that the next day you would wake up feeling sore from being sharp and tight with your body movements.
The cheerleaders have started off the season with practice and conditioning, from which they have learned four new cheers, and are getting ready to cheer their way through the basketball season.
