On January 21, the New Haven Chamber of Commerce held an informational membership night at Front Street Catering, 129 Front Street. The event was sponsored by the New Haven Area Chamber of Commerce as both a thank you to the members and as a review of past activities and future plans.
The Chamber’s goal in 2016 is to raise funds for the painting of two or three murals at various locations in town. The fundraising goal was set at $10,000, with the Chamber of Commerce funding the initial $2,000. The Chamber will take proposals from artists and to events to help fundraise in the future.
About thirty people were in attendance at the membership night.
City Administrator Steve Roth pronounced, “We had a very nice turnout and feel we had a good response to our mural plans. We also had some music during the event, courtesy of Darren Lamb and myself.”
The Chamber of Commerce has roughly seventy-five members of right now. The fee to become a member is $30 and you can join at anytime. The Chamber hosts monthly meetings about the development of the town.
