ARTC is a program for middle schoolers who enjoy art and being creative and who want to learn about themselves and their artistic ability. Similar to an art club, ARTC starts today from 2:45 to 3:45 P.M. in the art room and will end on Monday, May 8th, 2017. Students must of turned in their release form by Friday, March 10th. The students who participate will have the opportunity to explore many different artistic media in this group.
According to Mrs. Roth, “ARTC (Achieving Resiliency Through Creativity) is a group offered by a local not for profit organization, Preferred Family Healthcare. This group will be facilitated by Michelle McClain, myself, and Mrs. Borcherding.”
Mrs. Roth commented, “It is hoped that students will learn some healthy coping skills and boost self confidence in the process. I sought this program out because I feel many students could benefit from this creative outlet. If you start, you are expected to attend every Monday. If students have questions or concerns, please contact me or Mrs. Borcherding. Mrs. Borcherding and myself are very excited to bring this opportunity to NHMS!”
Mrs. Borcherding said, “I've been wanting to start an art club at New Haven for a while. Right now we have an extremely talented group of middle school students that I think could become very successful artists in high school and beyond.
