The September Student of the Month is senior Drew Armfield. Drew is the son of Deanna and Don Armfield. He is the NHS treasurer, boys basketball manager and also active in FBLA, FCA, student council, cross country, and track.
Mr. Peirick said, “Drew is always willing to give a helping hand without being asked. When we were setting up the cross country course for the New Haven Short Course, Drew jumped in to help set boundaries along the course and the finish line and shoot. No one asked him to help, he just did it. This was after he just finished cross country practice and all of his teammates had left to go home.” Mrs. Borcherding commented, “Drew has been a great leader in Student Council with his work on our float for the balloon festival. If I have a question or need something done, I can count on him to answer it or get it done.” Mrs. Hoener praised Drew saying, “Drew is highly involved in extra-curricular activities, but yet still volunteers his time to help others. He has offered numerous times to put ice in the whirlpool and fill it with water for one of my volleyball players. This is a time consuming process, yet he is willing to give up part of his study hall to help out his classmate. His classroom work is neat, organized, and thorough. He is a role model for other students.”
In the future, Drew plans to attend a university to major in agricultural engineering.
