The Steeleville cross country course proved to be an easy run for the New Haven cross country team. It was a flat course, located in the park of Steeleville. The varsity boys continued the tradition and got second as a team. The junior varsity team finished in third place, losing to Sullivan and Pacific. The Varsity girls finished third as a team.
The varsity boys top 5 runners all medaled. The runners who medaled were Nathan Ford, Dominick Pataky, Keven McDowell, Cole Lensing, and Ryan Blankenship.
The junior varsity boys also had the top 5 runners medal. Those runners include Riley Otten, Alex Majors, Drew Armfield, Alex Madden, and Bubba Gale. The varsity girls had 3 runners medal, which include Abby Grater, Emily Lewis, and Lucy Roth.
Mr. Tucker was really excited with the results from this meet. He said, “This was our best meet so far, SO FAR.” He was sure to emphasize “so far” because he plans on the cross country team getting even better. He was also sure to mention,”Jefferson Barracks is not an easy race. It has a lot of hills and is one of the hardest courses we will run on.” Jefferson Barracks will be held on September 27th, a Saturday. -by Alex Madden
